KEVIN + BRÉDEN A LOVE STORY 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING
From the very first phone call with Kevin to plan the proposal, I knew this love story was going to be something truly special.
It’s hard not to sound cliché, but there’s just something magnetic about the way Kevin talks about Bréden— it’s like you’ve been part of their journey all along.
Now, let me be honest: planning this proposal wasn’t the easiest task. Between multiple schedules, re-planning, and countless moving parts, it was anything but simple. But somehow, through all the chaos, the moment unfolded in the most perfect way—exactly how it was meant to.
Shortly after the proposal, we began planning their engagement session. We chose to head to Chicago—a city that holds a special place in both of their hearts. Running through the streets of Downtown Chicago with them gave me the chance to see, up close, the depth of their bond. By the end of the session, I couldn’t tell if I was more in love with the images we captured or with their story itself.
Which brings us to this moment: The Long-Awaited Day. (Yes, 10+ years in the making!)
The wedding weekend kicked off with a welcome party, setting the tone for a celebration that was as heartfelt as it was joyful.
On a day that’s typically all about the couple, I asked Kevin and Bréden what they were most excited for—and without hesitation, they both answered:
“Having all of our favorite people in the same place”
That speaks volumes. It’s no wonder their friends and family are drawn to them; their love and warmth are magnetic.
Personally, I was beyond excited to capture their wedding—not just because of the love story, but because of the genuine friendship we’ve built in what feels like no time at all.
The day began at The Spindletop in Lexington, KY, where everyone got ready surrounded by history and charm. I aimed to keep everything authentic to the venue’s timeless feel, while still incorporating my signature style.
Once the bridal party was ready, we made our way to the Cathedral of Christ the King, where Kevin and Bréden exchanged vows during a beautiful full Mass, surrounded by those who mean the most to them.
After the ceremony, we transitioned back to The Spindletop for cocktail hour and the reception. We were blessed with perfect light and an incredible bridal party, making portraits a dream to shoot. And though I could’ve spent hours photographing just the two of them, I knew how important it was for K + B to be present with their guests—so we made every moment count.
The evening was full of laughter, dancing, and some of the most heartfelt toasts I’ve ever had the honor of capturing.
Of course, no words can quite capture the magic like a photograph can.
So I’ll let my lens tell the rest of this story.
